CHUO ST

chuo street

This was a fun project prompted by an office move. My new office at work was great aside from one issue, its barren sad walls. I got to work trying to create something fun and simple to put up. I started to try something with a minimal style and lots of negative space hoping to print it large because there was quite a bit of wall space to fill.

As I played with the idea a very intricate piece of graffiti came across my feed with a very angular style. The way the letters overlapped and flowed through openings in other letters was so well done and it caught my eye. I started to draw one continuous line as it wrapped around the page and the geometric shapes I had already drawn. I started with one line but it felt empty still and I was enjoying following how these little squiggles fit over and around the others so I added more.

Soon it was filled with primary colors the lines had been cleaned up to create that 3 dimensional space and it was ready for print. After testing with some 8.5×11 paper it was printed full size and sits behind my desk as you read this!
